Working with mixed media for the first time was really fun! As you may know, I’ve never really worked with mixed media until this past summer when I accidentally discovered a new technique after creating vegetable paintings for my kitchen.  I really liked how some of the images that I cut from magazines transferred onto the canvas. Taking this idea one step further, I decided to transfer Christmas music on to canvas to create the backgrounds for my new “Christmas Cardinal” paintings.

Here you’ll see that I’ve painted cardinals on top of the music for “White Christmas.” I really love how these turned out!
