“Special Delivery”, Acrylic on 20 x 24 Canvas
With spring just around the corner, I’ve found myself migrating to bright, colorful and cheerful subjects for my paintings. Here is my newest painting titled “Special Delivery.” I started by applying pale colors with a palette knife for the background. I wanted an abstract look but also one to where it looks like an actual setting. I started out wanting to paint more of a whimsical bicycle…but you know me and details! It’s so hard to capture the intricacies of the bike with a palette knife. So with this in mind, I used a brush to paint bicycle which I think still has a whimsical flare with it’s bright aqua blue color. And it turns out that I really love how the abstract and the realism come together to create this unique piece. The bright pop of pink flowers adds even more fun!
If you are local to the Atlanta area, “Special Delivery” will be on display at the Alpha Arts Guild member show “Celebrate the Old, Bring on the New.” The show will be held in the 5000 corridor at Avalon in Alpharetta, GA and runs through the end of May.
Update – This piece has sold but I can create a custom painting just for you!
Beautiful painting, and very unique.
