I’m very excited that I get to participate again in the annual Georgia Association for Women Lawyers Art Auction. I found out about this great organization last year from one of my sorority sisters when she sent out a request on Facebook for artwork donations (the power of social media!). She explained that the auction raises money for scholarships and other programs for the advancement of women lawyers in the state. I decided that I would lend my support this year by creating an original painting specifically for this event. This piece titled, “An Early Spring”, along with many other beautiful works of art will be on the auction block March 1st at Art Space International located in Atlanta, GA. For more info on the auction or to buy tickets, visit the event page. This year’s theme is Mardi Gras so you know it should be a great time!

I thought it would be fun to share photos showing the progression of the painting. If you have any questions about the process behind this piece or my work in general, feel free to send me an e-mail at Kphillipsart@yahoo.com or submit a comment below.

Update: This painting did not meet the bid minimum during the auction but it was able to find a nice home during the 2014 Sandy Springs Festival!
