I haven’t spent a lot of time painting landscapes but thought I would give it a go. I was inspired by my recent drive to the Blue Ridge Mountains this past New Year’s Eve with picturesque views of rolling hills and old barns. I had planned to take a few photos for reference on my drive back, however, the opportunity was ruined by rain. So I sort of used my imagination a bit on this painting although I did find a photo of a gorgeous sunset sky that I knew I had to incorporate into the piece – I loved the drama of the pink, gold, and purple clouds! This is the final outcome – let me know your thoughts!
